May 10th, 6:00-8:30 pm: Sacred Melodies: A Shabbat Farm Gathering to Sing, Learn, and Feast

Cost: Free

Join Director of Jewish Life & guest artist Mikey Pauker for a joyful, participatory gathering on the Farm to welcome in the sacred pause of Shabbat. Through the moving melodies of Kabbalat Shabbat (the liturgy for Sabbath eve), approachable learning and embodied participation, you will be invited to let go of the week that's past and to rest in the present moment, while connecting with the folks gathering around you. Dinner will follow the Sacred Melodies service. It's a bring-your-own-dinner picnic style. Challah will be provided!

Mikey Pauker (pronounced pow-ker) is a Jewish devotional artist and  worship leader from Orange County, California. Mikey supports communities alchemizing Jewish mystical teachings through uplifting song and story. He believes that all humans have the birthright to share their song and his music serves as a vessel for that exploration. Mikey has been described as one of “The 10 Stars Of The New Jewish Music" via TIME Magazine. As a certified Torah Trek Guide and former music director for Wilderness Torah, he brings Jewish Earth-Based teachings to the forefront of his offerings. He travels to spiritual communities leading Shabbat services, concerts, ceremonies and workshops to communities in the US and abroad. As a voting recording academy member he teamed up with Grammy nominated Joanie Leeds to propose the first Jewish Music Category and is currently working on making this possible. Mikey has shared the stage with artists including: Matisyahu, Idan Raichel, Stephen Marley, Trevor Hall, Rebelution, Toots & The Maytals, Krishna Das, Yaima, Ayla Nereo and more.  He currently serves as a cantorial soloist at Temple Beth El in Aliso Viejo, California.
