Why We Fundraise
Farm programs are designed to meaningfully benefit the land and the community, from improving the fertility of the Farm’s soil and supporting biodiverse ecosystems, to making sure low-income families have equal and dignified access to fresh, nutrient-dense foods, and providing quality educational opportunities, we seek to foster a healthier community and a more sustainable environmental future for our region. This fundraising toolkit equips our Farm friends and supporters to join us in this important work.
Fundraising Ideas and How To:
Share your passion for the Farm with your online community. Create a Facebook Fundraiser in honor of your birthday or for Giving Tuesday, and invite your friends and family to help you meet your goal.
Crowdsource platforms like GoFundMe and others are designed for public, peer-to-peer fundraising. Create an online fundraiser featuring the Farm’s work. You will be amazed how spreading the word among your community can make an impact!
Celebrate or commemorate big moments by donating to a cause you believe in. When friends and family ask how to honor your graduation or support after a loved ones’ passing, consider inviting them to support the Farm in your/their honor.
(It is customary for in the Jewish community to donate in increments of $18. Other ideas: donate the number of years you have been married or add the Farm to your baby registry!)
Coastal Roots Farm is rooted in Jewish values such as Tikkun Olam (repairing the world). Join us by collecting loose change. Every bit helps!
Our pay-what-you-can Farm Stand offers equitable access to organic, nutrient-dense produce and eggs twice a week. One third of customers utilize the pay-what-you-can system while other customers contribute the suggested amount or even donate above. When you shop, consider making an extra donation so that the person behind you can continue taking up to $30 off as needed to feed themselves or their family.
Farm Events are a labor of love produced in partnership with our community. Ticket prices are often suggested donations and -like our Farm Stand produce - are offered on a pay-what-you-can basis. Your ticket purchases support our mission and ensure everyone in our community has access to educational and community building opportunities.
Event sponsors contribute to the success of our impactful community events and align their brand with the Farm’s values while benefitting from exposure to the Farm’s audience (17k followers on social media; 10k newsletter subscribers and growing!).
