Gratitude is a deeply seeded value in Jewish culture. The practice of giving blessings reminds us of all that is good in the world.
Coastal Roots Farm is feeling very grateful this month. With the support and kindness of our community and a generous grant from San Diego County, we successfully raised $35,000 to purchase a new produce delivery truck that will allow us to transport fresh, locally and biodynamically grown produce to low-income, at-risk community members who would otherwise not have access to this quality food.
In addition, we were also chosen as a winner of the Seeds of Change Favorite Farm campaign. Coastal Roots Farm was selected out of hundreds of farm applicants nationwide to receive one of just 24 grants and will be receiving $10,000 to help fund our programs! We couldn’t have done it without our community of supporters. So thank you, and we encourage you to visit seedsofchangegrant.com to see how we plan to use the funds.
Jewish practices of gratitude also remind us that our successes and good fortune are partially due to our hard work but are also the result of so many other people and influences in life. We are truly grateful to have such a wonderful and supportive community. Thank you so much for all that you do to support Coastal Roots Farm.
