Mandala is Sanskrit for “circle” and is most commonly associated with Hindu and Buddhist cultures.
Join the Farm’s Director of Jewish Life, Rebecca Joy Fletcher for a hands-on, Jewish take on outdoor mandala-making, in commemoration of the upcoming Jewish fast day of Tisha B'Av. Make your own unique mandala using organic materials from the Farm’s Food Forest and engage in a conversation about the many ways we can love -- freely and abundantly. No prior experience necessary and no need to identify as Jewish to attend and enjoy!
The Jewish fast day of Tisha B'av commemorates the destruction of the Temple, and many other sad moments in Jewish history. It is said that the Temple was destroyed because of baseless hatred, and that the best thing we can do as an antidote is to love for no reason as well. Think of it as abundant love.
Post mandala making light snacks and drinks.
$20/person. Ages 12 and up.
